If you have any issues purchasing the essential items please speak to one of the leaders. We have some equipment available to borrow.
Everything MUST be named (Drinks bottles, day bags and coats should be named ideally with 20th Worcester too, so they can make their way back to us).
Remember, no snacks or sweets allowed. Food must be handed in on arrival (unless of course it’s an expedition camp!)
Essential items (assuming a 2-night regular camp)
- Uniform – usually to be worn on arrival
- Rucksack/Duffle bag (no suitcases)
- Day bag (small rucksack like a school bag)
- Refillable drinks bottle
- Sleeping Bag
- Roll Mat
- Blanket
- Small Pillow or pillow case for stuffing clothes into
- Warm Pyjamas
- Waterproofs (coat and trousers)
- Warm Jumper
- 3 T-shirts or similar
- 3 Trousers or leggings (no jeans)
- Underwear
- Socks
- At least two pairs of shoes (Hiking Boots/Strong Shoes/Wellies) – no sandals
- Hair bobbles if you have long hair
- Personal washing kit
- Cutlery and plastic plate, bowl and mug in a named bag
- Towel
- Tea Towel
- Torch and Spare Batteries (put batteries in backwards so torch doesn’t turn on in bag)
- Plastic bag for dirty washing
- Sun hat in summer or warm hat in winter
- Sun cream in summer
- Insect repellent (if you need it)
- Anti bacterial hand gel
- Tissues
- Personal First Aid kit (do not include medicines in this)
- Medication – should be clearly labelled with name and dosage instructions and handed to the named leader on arrival. Please don’t assume your Scout will know the dosage. You must give us clear instructions. Please also check expiry dates.
- Small amount of pocket money
- Pen and paper
Optional items only if your Scout already has them as we have group items for the Scouts to use.
- Compass
- Emergency Whistle
- Fire stick
- Solid fuel camp stove
- Mess tin
- Bivvy Bag if they want to sleep outside their tent
- Mobile phone – on a camp by camp basis depending on the planned activities. This must be in a named plastic bag and handed in on arrival
